The story begins at WITS and how the power of community impacted our lives.I will be sharing a real life story that began at a WITS conference. I was a career changer, just recently transiting into tech when I attended my first WITS conference. I knew I needed to network to learn more about my field, but I was somewhat timid. The only thing I could think of to do was to walk up to the lady who gave the opening remarks and introduce myself. From that initial handshake, grew a powerful mentoring relationship.
During my session, I will describe how I met my mentor, how the past 5 years has enriched both of our lives through a close and productive mutual supportive relationship and the mentoring hacks that we have identified and want to share with the WITS community.
